  • Flexible Web-Based Email Access

The MXtremeTM Mail Firewall solves the challenge of secure remote access through BorderPost, its built-in WebMail client. BorderPost connects to your internal email servers using IMAP, and provides users 128-bit SSL encrypted access to their mailbox from any web browser. BorderPost manages the entire session, automatically logging off and clearing cached information in the remote browser, so you don't have to worry about unauthorized access to email from a public kiosk.

Application-level proxy ensures highest levels of security for all WebMail sessions

MXtreme also provides secure authenticated proxies for Microsoft Outlook Web AccessΞ’Β® (OWA) and Lotus iNotesΞ’Β®. Webmail services provide a highly secure mechanism, easy to use remote interface for users to access their mail server mailboxes remotely via a web browser. This feature is ideal for users who want access to other tools, such as calendars and private folders, without directly exposing Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes to the Internet.

As these webmail services are accessible from the Internet, they present a number of security challenges. The Secure WebMail feature is designed to support the use of webmail services while protecting Webmail servers from Internet attacks. The connection is managed using a full application proxy. MXtreme completely recreates all HTTP/HTTPS requests made by the external client to the internal webmail server

    Secure Authenticated Access

MXtreme provides an additional layer of authentication with support for hardware tokens such as SecurID® and CryptoCardΞ’Β®. MXtreme also works with RADIUS® and LDAP for secured authentication, simplifying management and set-up.
