| HALO & Message-Level Redundancy |
The MXtreme can be clustered for high availability (HALO) and also offers message level redundancy by replication of the active mail queue to ensure every email accepted will be delivered even in case of a hardware failure. All systems can be clustered together to increase additional capacity, throughput, or provide load balancing and optional high availability.

High Availability and Load Optimization (HALO)
- Fault tolerant hardware with redundant configurations
- Advanced clustering architecture based on distributed architecture offers improved failover capabilities and 99.999% mail systems availability
- Built in hardware redundancy and hot-swappable hardware (power supplies, hard drives, multi processor and separate memory banks on Opteron configured systems)
- Integration with F5 BigIP and Cisco Catalyst for true load balancing - bit rate shaping and advanced email throttling
- Advanced Policy replication on a global or domain basis
- Single sign on management for all HALO clusters
- Advanced multi-mode distributed high availability for MXtreme Infinity clusters
- Patented "Stateful Failover" with queue replication

Eliminates delays and downtime Prevents the loss of valuable messages
Zero Lost Messages
Today email is used for transactions and communications that require message-level redundancy, since load balancing is not enough. For example losing an important time sensitive email such as a sales order or contract negotiation can cause an organization both lost productivity and lost revenue.
Mxtreme message-level redundancy ensures no message is ever lost. Copies of all message queues are replicated across the cluster and messages can be delivered should a member of the cluster be unavailable.
Load Balanced Clusters
MXtreme clusters can be load-balanced using DNS round robin, or using intelligent load balancer devices such as F5 Networks’ Big-IP. MXtreme is the only mail firewall to work directly with F5 Networks. With F5 Networks’ Big-IP, administrators can write complex policies that enable email throttling, support priority messages, or perform content delivery based on predefined zone policies.
